KARACHI, Sept 6: The city government has assumed control of Metropole- Mereweather Tower’s parking area from September 3.

The city government took the decision against contractor Umer Corporation for violating the contract rules and not paying monthly instalments.

Scrap: The city government sold scrap for Rs200,000 through a public auction on Thursday.

The auction was held at the city government’s store department under the supervision of its representative and the committee set up by the city Nazim.

Seven lots of goods were present which included electrical equipment, different machines, water coolers and refrigerators.

Only one lot was cancelled due to low price quotation.—APP
