Manufacturing
LONDON, Sept 6: Britain’s manufacturers got back to business in July, recording their biggest production rise in 23 years, after extended holidays to mark Queen Elizabeth’s 50 years on the throne cut output in June.
The Office for National Statistics said manufacturing output jumped 4.9 per cent in July, the best performance since February 1979, but not quite enough to reverse June’s dramatic 5.5 per cent fall when some factories closed for nearly a week.—Reuters
