298 NA and 740 PAs papers rejected


ISLAMABAD, Sept 4: Nomination papers of 298 candidates were rejected in the process of scrutiny by the Returning Officers on various reasons.

According to Election Commission for the general seats of the National Assembly 3,546 candidates filed their nomination papers out of them 298 were rejected.

Following is the province-wise detail of the nomination papers for the National Assembly after the scrutiny of the papers.

In the scrutiny of nomination papers for the general seats of the four provincial assemblies, out of total of 8,389 nomination papers filed for these seats, 740 were rejected while 7,649 were accepted by the Returning Officers.

Following is the province-wise detail of the nomination papers for the provincial assemblies after scrutiny.

For the 60 reserved seats for the women in the National Assembly, 379 nominations papers were filed, out of which 20 were rejected.
