Oil prices fall

Published September 3, 2002

LONDON, Sept 2: Oil prices edged lower on Monday, hit by profit taking following recent gains, although the move came in thin turnover with US markets shut for the Labour Day holiday.

Reference Brent North Sea crude oil for October delivery fell 13 cents to $27.34 per barrel.

In New York, the light sweet crude October contract rose six cents to $28.98 per barrel on Friday.

“It’s been extremely quiet today. We’re looking at very low volumes, less than half the normal market volume,” said ED and F Man trader Graham Flint.—AFP
