RAWALPINDI, Aug 31: As many as 276 affected persons of the Nullah Leh project have been compensated for their acquired properties, officials said at a meeting of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) here on Saturday.
The Punjab minister for works, Lt-Gen Tariq (retired), presided over the meeting held to review the pace of work on the project. The meeting was told the total number of persons affected was 1,170.
Those who are yet to be compensated have been asked to get their compensation amount at the earliest as the government has already announced the award and provided Rs400 million for the purpose.
The meeting was informed that the areas being affected by the Nullah expansion works, include Gawalmandi, Ratta Amral, Rawalpindi Sakhi and Manhal, Pir Wadhai, Khayaban-i-Sir Syed, Paghwari and Katarian.
The minister instructed the authority that there should not be any change in the plan regarding the acquisition of buildings for the project in order to avoid complications that may delay the completion of the project.
