Cabinet meets today

ISLAMABAD, Aug 30: The federal cabinet will meet here on Saturday to discuss a number of issues, including the proposed press and publication ordinance.

According to official sources, the meeting to be presided over by President Gen Pervez Musharraf, will also approve the avoidance of double taxation ordinance between Pakistan and Cyprus.

The current political situation will also be discussed during the meeting with special reference to the holding of general election on October 10.

Sources said although the prolonged standoff between Pakistan and India was not on the agenda of the cabinet, it is expected to be discussed during the meeting.
