HYDERABAD, Aug 30: A large number of the allotees of Mehar Ali Housing Welfare Cooperative Society, Latifabad-11, staged a demonstration here on Friday against the builder, Habibur Rehman.
Talking to newsmen, Mubarik Shaikh, Tanveer Afzal, Wahid Ali and Nadeem, said that in 1992 Rehman had sold out 120 square feet plots to 565 allotees in the housing society.
They said that each allotee had paid Rs56,000 to the builder but now he was demanding Rs86,000 for the said plots in flagrant violation of the Building Control Act.
They alleged that the Hyderabad Development Authority was also supporting the builder.
They said that ten years had passed but the builder had not carried out any development work in the housing scheme.
They complained that although 100 allotees had constructed their houses, even water supply at the housing scheme had not been arranged by the builder.
They said that they had approached the taluka Nazim, Latifabad, but he too had shown his helplessness and transferred the responsibility to the HDA.
