LAHORE, Aug 29: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has announced the schedule for next phases of its Rawalpindi-Karachi train march.

MMA’s information secretary Pir Ijaz Hashmi said on Thursday that central leaders of the six-party alliance would board Khyber Mail from Lahore on Sept 7 and reach Rohri in Sindh the same evening and from there they would take Tezro on Sept 8 and arrive in Karachi in the evening.

Besides speaking to the small gatherings at various stations en route Karachi, they would also address a big public meeting outside the Karachi Cantt railway station.

Later, a summit meeting would be held to decide next phases of election campaign of the MMA.

The march had to be rescheduled due to engagements of some central leaders in the scrutiny of their nominations.

Mr Hashmi said the new plan was finalized at a summit meeting held here on Wednesday night.

The meeting also approved funding for the proposed Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal media cell to be based in Lahore, besides taking some decisions on adjustment issue.

He would not give details of the decisions.
