By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: The Pakistan Muslim League (N) has demanded of the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt-Gen Munir Hafiz, to declare his assets.

In a statement, issued here on Tuesday, PML (N) Information Secretary Siddique-ul-Farooque said Gen Musharraf had announced that all his colleagues would declare their assets.

“Chairman NAB should declare his assets, including those of his dependents to substantiate his claim that the NAB law applies equally to all citizens,” he said, adding that the NAB officials were very keen to demand details of assets from anyone whom they wanted to harass.

Lt-Gen Munir Hafiz must give location and market value of his all movable and immovable assets, including furniture and other household goods, that he and his dependents possesed, the statement said and demanded of Mr Hafiz to tell the people when he had aqcuired those assets.

The party also demanded that the NAB chief give details of the assets that he sold after joining army service.

Mr Farooque asked the general to state details of the salary that he has so far received and the expenditure on education and weddings, if any, of his children.

He said the declaration of the assets held by Gen Hafiz and his dependents was essential for the people to decide whether he was qualified to head the accountability bureau.
