Assessment of damage ordered

By Our Correspondent

CHARSADDA, Aug 27: District Nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan on Monday visited the flood-affected villages of Charsadda and directed land revenue officials to asses the damage caused by the recent rains and flash floods in the area.

The Nazim, accompanied by Mohammad Nari Union Council Nazim Fazal Khan, Assistant Information Director Farid Ullah Khan and other officials, said those affected by the floods would be compensated from the flood relief fund.

The torrential rains and the flash floods have wreaked havoc on the crops and hundreds of houses in various villages and towns of the district.

The most affected villages in southern Hashthangar are Wardaga, Mohammad Nari, Khawry Koroona, Taza Gul Koroona and Musa Kaley. In every village, more than 40 houses have either collapsed or have been substantially damaged. No loss of life, however, has been reported from any area.
