LARKANA: Bandit killed

LARKANA, Aug 27: The Larkana police claimed having killed a dacoit, Asghar Jhatyal, in an ‘encounter’ on Sunday night in the Katcha area of Larkana.

The DPO, Larkana, Abdul Sattar Detho, told Dawn the police had been informed about the suspected movements of a gang of dacoits near the Burira ferry point on the bank of the River Indus.

He said at Shahoo Dandh the police ordered them to surrender but they opened fire instead. The police retaliated as a result a dacoit, identified as Asghar Jhatyal, was killed.
