HYDERABAD: Water supply to Nazim’s crop stopped

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Aug 27: The water supply to standing crops of District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has been stopped and the power voltage of his Latifabad residence has been decreased.

This was said by an insider of Makhdoom House while talking to Dawn.

He said the district Nazim was being punished for speaking loud and clear on the Rohri Canal breach and for helping the affected people and insisting on their rehabilitation.

He said Dr Rafiquzzaman had already talked to the chief secretary and the secretary for irrigation about the withholding of water supply to his crops but no action had been taken so far.

The source said the district Nazim had written a letter to the Sindh governor ten days back to provide him a separate suite in the circuit house or some other accommodation as Makhdoom House was likely to become the hub of political activities and he wanted to remain neutral and inaccessible to the aspirant candidates during the coming general election.

However, he said, there had been no response to the request.
