KARACHI, Aug 27: Three ships, Fair Mary, Al-Fios and Safemarine Victory carrying furnace oil, iron ore and containers were allotted berths at Fotco Oil Terminal, Steel Jetty and Qasim International Containers Terminal (QICT) during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Two more ships, Safe Marine Athi to unload containers and Linda Oldendroff to offload iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage during the period. Safe Marine Athi was expected to take berth at QICT on Tuesday.

Four ships were at the wharves loading/offloading containers, edible oil, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 24,889 tons comprising 22,101 tons of import cargo and 2,788 tons of export tonnage, inclusive of cargo carried in 583 containers, was handled.

Sailing activity was remained modest as only one ship, Bunga Saintan sailed out. Another ship, Stolt Integrity was due to arrive.
