SUKKUR, Aug 25: Four people were killed and two others were wounded in an armed clash between the Lund and Bozdar tribes in the Sunan Jaro village, near Yaro Lund, Ghotki District, on Saturday night.

Some enraged Lund tribesmen killed Sadiq Bozdar. So the Bozdars launched an armed attack on the Lund tribe as a result of which three Lund tribesmen — Mitthal Lund, Eidan Lund, and Mubarik Lund — were killed, and Subhan and Murid were injured.

Later, the Bozdars confined themselves to the safety of their houses and posted guards outside.

A police check post with 10 policemen was set up in the area to stop further bloodshed.

The district Nazim, Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Maher, Ahmed Yar Shar, Ahmed Ali Patafi, and Rahim Bux Bozdar were trying to negotiate with the elders of the Lund and Bozdar tribes on Sunday to settle the dispute.

The district Nazim and other influential people met with Fayyaz Ahmed Lund, the chief of the Lund tribe, and Rahim Bux Bozdar, the chief of the Bozdar tribe, who demanded that all the culprits involved in the armed clash should be arrested as a precondition for the negotiations, otherwise the Lund tribe would avenge the killings.

THREE KIDNAPPED: Three boys were kidnapped by a gang of armed dacoits from the Shahal Sadayo village on Sunday morning.

The three boys — Asif Ali (13), Aitbar (12) and Irfan (9) — left their homes on their bicycles to sell milk as usual.

Later, there was no sign of the boys, while their bicycles were found lying in the village.

WOMAN KILLED: A woman, Fehmida Kolachi, was killed by her brother-in-law, Anwer Ali, in the Anwerabad village, Ghotki District, on Sunday.

MAN KILLED: Five armed Burro tribesmen opened indiscriminate fire on a man, Salim Kandrani, killing him on the spot in Thul Town, Jacobabad District, on Sunday.
