MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 24: The Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC), an alliance of Kashmiri Mujahideen groups, has condemned the killing of 10 Muslims in occupied Jammu, but has made it clear that such gruesome acts on the part of Indian forces would not deter the Kashmiris from carrying on their struggle for freedom.
Occupied Kashmir police alleged on Saturday that 10 Muslim civilians were gunned down by suspected Islamic militants in two separate overnight attacks. Eight of them, including three women, were killed in Ghai Pass area of Thanamandi locality in Rajouri and two more Muslims were killed in nearby Kalali locality.
However, MJC chairman Syed Salahuddin said the condemnable acts were the work of the Indian forces.
“Killing of poor Muslim herdsmen makes it clear that the Indian fanatic regime is implementing the anti-Muslim agenda of the Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS),” he said, in a statement.
The RSS is regarded as the parent organization of around 25 groups of Hindu fanatics, including India’s ruling Bhartia Janata Party.
The killings, Mr Salahuddin said, were part of Indian designs to keep the people of Jammu in general and its Muslim community in particular away from the freedom struggle through the use of force and terror.
“But Indian conspiracies are bound to fail because every Kashmiri is determined to overthrow New Delhi’s illegal rule,” he said.
The MJC chief called upon the world community and international human rights organizations to intervene to stop the Indian rulers from masterminding and executing such incidents.
“The leadership of the Mujahideen and the people of Kashmir share the grief of the bereaved families and we promise to them that those involved would meet exemplary punishment.”
He offered for the deliverance of the martyred Muslims and expressed the hope that their sacrifices would shortly bring the good news of freedom.
