Faculties dominate on opening day

KARACHI, Aug 24: Seven matches were decided in the Karachi University Inter-collegiate girls table tennis championship which began at the Karachi University Gymkhana Saturday.

Seventeen colleges are participating in the competition.

Nine colleges namely Physical Education, St. Lawrence, St. Patrick’s College, Home Economics, PECHS College, Islamia College, Adamjee Science, CAMS College and Degree Science Malir did not turn up.

Faculties dominated the day’s proceedings winning both their matches. First they beat Government Science & Commerce College B;lock 16 3-0 and later accounted for Karachi College for Women by the same margin.

The following were the results:

St. Joseph bt Jinnah Medical & Dental 3-1 Premier College bt Government College, Korangi 3-1 Faculties beat Government Science & Commerce College Block-17 3-0 Khursheed College bt DHA Girls College 3-0 APWA College beat Government Saudabad College 3-0 Faculties beat Karachi College for Women 3-0 Sir Syed College beat Premier College 3-1
