Nomination papers filed

LARKANA, Aug 24: The candidates, backed by People’s Party Parliamentarians, different factions of Pakistan Muslim League, Muttahida Quami Movement, Sindh Democratic Alliance and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, filed their nomination papers with their respective returning officers for four national and eight provincial assembly seats in Larkana on Saturday.

Till filing of this report, around 100 candidates had filed papers, including Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, president, PPP, Sindh chapter, who filed his papers for PS-36 (Larkana-II).

Khuhro later attended a reception hosted by the District Bar Association.

Dr Safdar Abbasi, the political secretary of Benazir Bhutto, Munwar Ali Abbasi, former Sindh minister for local bodies, and Shafqat Unnar came in a big procession to the court and filed nomination papers for national and provincial assembly seats.

Former MPA Amir Bakhsh Bhutto of the Sindh National Front filed his nomination papers for PS-37 (Larkana-III) from where Mohammad Ayaz Soomro, president, District Bar Association, also filed his papers as PPP candidate.

Altaf Hussain Unnar of the PML (Q) filed nomination papers for NA-205 and PS-35 and 41.

Babu Sarfraz Isran, president, PML (N), Larkana district, filed his nomination papers for NA-204 (Larkana-I).
