ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage met Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider here on Saturday and praised Pakistani authorities for immediate arrests of criminals involved in recent terrorists incidents in the country.

The two sides exchanged views on ongoing cooperation between the two friendly countries.

He assured that the United States would expand its cooperation to promote and upgrade security environment of Pakistan.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role as coalition partner.

Mr Haider briefed him about the working and capacity of the Civil Armed Forces and the measures being taken to enhance the capacity of police in Pakistan through reforms and additional allocation of resources.—APP
