HYDERABAD, Aug 23: The Regulation Department, city Taluka, Hyderabad, has announced on Friday that it has decided to launch an anti-encroachment drive in the city to remove all illegal encroachments on the footpaths and roads and municipal properties.

A spokesman of the city taluka administration said that the decision to this effect was taken at separate meetings between the city Nazim, police department and the representatives of various trade organizations who were of the unanimous opinion that the nuisance of encroachments everywhere in the city should be removed once and for all.

It was also decided in the meetings that the traffic police would make traffic arrangements and ensure that people did not park their vehicles anywhere else except the notified terminus.

The business community and push cart owners have been warned to voluntarily remove all illegal encroachments by Aug 25 at the latest failing which they will be demolished/removed at their own risk and cost and the goods will be confiscated.

SANITARY STAFF: The Naib Nazim, Hyderabad city Taluka, Abdul Qadeer Naghar, has warned the sanitary staff that strict action would be taken against those workers who were found absent from duty or whose areas were found dirty.

He said this during his visit to Tando Agha and Jurial Shah Colony on Thursday.

The visit was arranged by the president, Mehran Falahi Sangat, Ghulam Mohammad Rind.

He expressed total dissatisfaction over the sanitary conditions and directed the health officer, Dr Imtiaz Memon, and the area supervisor to improve the sanitary conditions within three days.

He warned that the delinquent staff should expect no leniency from the Taluka administration if the grievances of the citizens with regard to health and sanitation were not redressed.
