KARACHI, Aug 23: Sindh Health Secretary Khalid Latif Chaudhry will inaugurate an endoscopy clinic at Lyari General Hospital on Saturday.

Prof. Said Quraishi of the institution said the unit, being established at a cost of Rs 4 million, would cater to a large number of patients.

Video endoscope, generally not available in any other provincially- administered hospital, has also been arranged for the unit being inaugurated, he said.

The video endoscope was stated to be useful for all sorts of diagnostic procedures besides treating lesions. It was particularly beneficial for cases as oesophagus, stomach and colon cancers respectively alongwith ulcerative colitis.

Prof Quraishi was appreciative of the support extended by local philanthropists for helping hospital to generate funds worth Rs 0.3 million.—APP
