DC, KYC shock favourites
KARACHI, Aug 22: Dow Club (DC) and Karachi Youth Club (KYC) produced sterling performances to end the unbeaten run of Patrician Net and St. Lawrence in the Independence Day basketball championship at Arambagh Floodlit court Wednesday.
DC spearheaded by Aamir and Noman defeated Patrician Net 34-31 after a keenly contested encounter. Jerry de Souza performed well with 12 points but failed to save his team from suffering their first defeat in pool-3.
Rizwan showing brilliant agility, dribbling and passing scored 16 points as KYC demolished St. Lawrence 46-37. Rizwan got excellent support from Muhammad Rafiq, who scored 12 points.
