Pre-poll rigging alleged

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22: Acting secretary-general of Pakistan People’s Party, Mian Raza Rabbani, has asked Chief Election Commissioner Irshad Hassan Khan to take notice of efforts by the government to rig the elections by misusing official authority.

In a letter addressed to the CEC, Raza Rabbani wrote: “The governor’s houses are the hub of activity where political alliances are made, intending candidates interviewed and posting and transfers of civil servants effected to provide advantage to the king’s parties.”
