Bomb scare at PTCL headquarters

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22: Hundreds of employees were evacuated from the PTCL headquarters in a bomb scare on Thursday.

Police said an accountant received a call at about 10:40am on Thursday that a consignment of office stationery and some other goods which had arrived from Karachi contained a powerful bomb which would be detonated soon.

The police and bomb disposal experts were called in who got the building evacuated and started searching for the bomb.

The call was termed a hoax when the experts failed to find any explosive device in the building or the container.

Meanwhile, the management of Alta Vista School at G-8 Markaz received a similar call at noon. Bomb disposal experts and police failed to find any explosive device in the school building.
