PESHAWAR, Aug 22: Thousands of people were made homeless as their houses collapsed and property worth millions of rupees, fruit and vegetable gardens and standing crops were destroyed by floods that played havoc in many villages of Malakand district on Wednesday.
Torrential rain started at 5am resulting in severe floods at Jolagram, Totakan, PirKhel, Kot, Totai, Palai and other villages.
The floods were so severe that a large number of houses was washed away and dozens of cattle killed in the floods. No loss of life has, however, yet been reported. The district Nazim directed the authorities concerned to provide alternate arrangements to the homeless people.—Bureau Report
