HYDERABAD, Aug 22: The STPP will launch a movement from Sept 1 for the rights of the liberated peasants who have been rehabilitated in Qadir Nagar.

This was announced by the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party here on Tuesday at a meeting of the peasants who had been rescued from private jails of the landlords.

Speaking on the occasion, a central leader of the party, Muzaffar Kalhoro criticised the rulers and the government functionaries for their indifferent attitude towards the liberated haris.

He said that the haris, now living at Qadir Nagar, were rescued from private jails of different landlords six years back but the government had done nothing to provide jobs to them or resolve their problems such as water supply, sanitation and education for their children.

He announced that for provision of water, power and gas supply, establishment of school and regularization of Qadir Nagar, his party would launch a phase-wise protest movement from Sept 1.

PLEACE MARCH: The participants of the Pakistan-Kashmir solidarity march staged under banner of the Movement for Peace and Welfare, Sadiqabad, arrived here on Tuesday from Karachi.

They staged a march from Hyderabad Railway Station to Haider Chowk.

They will leave for Mirpurkhas on Wednesday morning after overnight stay here.

The march began from Sadiqabad on Aug 12 and will end there on 26.

He has also announced the results of MA (Previous), MA (Pass) final and MA (Hons) final of Social Work semester examination of 2001.

ILO CHARTER: The Director of Labour, Sindh, Dr Khawar Jameel, has exhorted the industrialists to implement the International Labour Organisation’s charter in letter and in spirit regarding the issuance of appointment letters, minimum wages and total ban on the employment of children.

He was speaking to the members of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here the other day.

He stressed the need for cordial relations between the employers and the employees.
