KARACHI: Gutter overflows plague Lyari

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 22: Residents of Madina Street No 3 of Yousuf Haroon Road in Lyari Town on Thursday complained that the overflowing gutter lines in the area had made their lives miserable for over a month.

They expressed fear that if early measures were not taken to improve the situation, it would pose a serious health hazard in the locality.

They claimed that they had repeatedly approached the authorities, but the situation has not been remedied.

TURBID: The residents of Fida Husain Shaika Road in Baghdadi have complained that turbid water is still being supplied to the locality, which they said is not worthy for drinking purposes.

Because of this, they said that gastrointestinal ailments have become common in the locality.

The residents of Maqbool Cooperative Society, Jehangir Road, have also expressed concern over the stinking conditions in the locality.

They said that the standing sewage water is a serious health problem, and urged the authorities concerned to take immediate measures to rectify the situation.
