SANGHAR, Aug 21: The farmers of Dim Wah and its distributaries in Khadro sub-division have threatened to observe a strike if the “unnecessary” rotation was not ended.

Former MPA Ali Ghulam Nizamani, Hashim Khaskheli, Nawab Mari, and Small Growers Association general-secretary Hassan Askari said on the one side breaches were occurring in canals due to excess water and on the other hand the irrigation officials had implemented rotation system.

They alleged that the irrigation authorities were deliberately creating water shortage to extort money from farmers.

STUDENTS’ DEMAND: The students who are desirous to get admission in government medical colleges in MBBS and BDS have demanded to extend the last date for submission of forms by at least two weeks. The present last date is Aug 31.

The students and their parents said the BISE, Hyderabad, declared results on Aug 19 and the marks sheets had not reached the colleges concerned. Original matriculation certificates of the year 1999-2000 were also not issued to students.

The principal of the Government Degree College, Sanghar, when contacted the controller of examinations was told that the marks certificates were not prepared so far.

SUICIDE: A girl committed suicide by taking pesticide in Aachar Jhullan village near Shahpur Chakar when her father could not arrange her admission fee.

The girl, Rehana, daughter of Hashim Jhullan, had recently passed her matriculation examination from the Government Girls High School, Amanullah Dahri.

She wanted to continue her studies but her father could not arrange Rs1,200 which she demanded for admission.
