Seven killed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Aug 18: Indian security forces said on Sunday they killed seven guerillas who tried to sneak across a military ceasefire line into Kashmir from Pakistan.

The incident took place on Saturday night in the Keran sector southwest of Srinagar.

“Army troops on Saturday intercepted a group of infiltrators near Keran sector resulting in fierce gunbattle between army and the militants,” an Indian security official said, adding seven intruders had died.—Reuters
