Postmen to get motorbikes

ISLAMABAD, Aug 18: The government has decided to provide motorbikes to postmen across the country for timely delivery of letters.

Official sources told this reporter that as a first step to this end, the postmen working in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi would get at least 60 motorcycles. The officials said the postmen would have the choice to own these motorbikes by depositing Rs500 monthly from their salaries for five years.

The Pakistan Post is also working on a plan of introducing an economical insurance service for health, education and Haj in villages.—Our Reporter
