Bush warns against strike

CRAWFORD (Texas), Aug 17: US President George W. Bush warned Friday that he and other baseball fans will be “furious” if owners and players fail to reach an agreement to avert a threatened strike set to start Aug 30.

“The baseball owners and the baseball players must understand that if there is a stoppage, a work stoppage, a lot of fans are going to be furious, and I’m one,” Bush, a former part owner of the Texas Rangers, said.—AFP
