Appointment letters not issued

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Aug 17: The candidates for various government jobs who have passed examinations and tests held by the Public Service Commission (PSC) of the NWFP, are yet to get any response from authorities concerned.

The notification of selection was issued on Aug 2 but it was neither dispatched to the candidates nor they were informed through any other means.

A number of candidates applied for the posts of women lecturers in various institutes of the province for selection on contract basis. This was in response to the advertisement issued by the Public Service Commission published in March this year.

A number of candidates qualified the tests/interviews, etc. Through a notification No SO(AB)HE/3-7/2002-03 dated 2nd Aug, 2002, eight candidates from Dera Ismail Khan were declared as selected and  posted at various institutions.

According to the rules, the selected candidates are presumed to take over within 30 days after the issue of their appointment letter otherwise their selection stands cancelled.

Only one candidate was informed of her selection on telephone.
