TCP makes counter offer for wheat sale

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 16: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan on Friday made counter offers to three bidders to match their offers with the highest bid at $108.17 per ton for wheat export.

The corporation has also extended the bid offer date up to Monday for the export of 100,000 tons “PAKPUNJAB” wheat (crop 2002). The TCP sources said that the highest bidder had put many conditions in his bid offer which were not in accordance with the terms and conditions of the tender document.

Consequently, the corporation has given counter offers to the three follow-up bidders to match their bids with the highest bidder and extended the offer date up to Monday (August 19), they added.

The second highest offer — $105.50 per ton — came from three to four bidders when bids were opened last Monday in the presence of participants at the TCP office, while the lowest bid offer was at $101 per ton.

Meanwhile, the TCP has offered another export sale of 50,000 tons of ‘PAKPUNJAB SUPREME’ quality wheat and fixed August 21 last date for receiving bids, and the same day bids will be opened in the presence of participants or their representatives.
