Nomination forms available with ROs

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15: The Election Commission on Thursday annouced the availability of nomination forms for the national and provincial assemblies with the returning officers which can be had for Rs10 each.

According to the announcement, “The nomination forms for the national and provincial assemblies have been supplied to all returning officers for onward supply to the prospective candidates of national and provincial assemblies constituencies.”

APP ADDS: The Election Commission will allot symbols for the Oct 10 polls to the political parties in a couple of days.

An Election Commission spokesman said, so far 71 parties have been declared eligible by the Election Commission to contest the forthcoming general elections.

The commission, he said, will allot the same symbol applied for by a party if held by it in previous elections.

“If there are more than one applications for an election symbol, the spokesman said, “it will be decided after taking into account various factors, including, if a party had contested previous elections and the number of MNAs and MPAs elected with the same symbol.”
