Govt committed to fair, free polls: Ranjha

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15: The government was committed to hold fair, free and transparent elections to bring in true democracy and to transfer power to the people.

This was stated by the minister for law and Justice, Dr Khalid Ranjha while talking to a delegation of European Union Election Observation Mission led by Chief Observer, Mr John Cushnahan, who called on him on Thursday.

He apprised the mission of the measures taken by the government to hold free, fair and impartial polls in the country.

The secretary law and justice, Mr Justice Mansoor Ahmed, secretary parliamentary affairs, Sikandar Hayat Jamali and senior officials of the ministry were also present during the meeting.
