KARACHI: Sewage on road

Published August 16, 2002

KARACHI, Aug 15: Sewage has kept overflowing on a part of Fidha Husain Shaika Road in the Baghdadi Union area for the past one week, making the road impassible for motorists and pedestrians.

The road is a link between Shah Latif Bhittai and Sheedi Village roads in Lea Market. No repair work has been carried on the road for a decade.

The residents say that repeated requests were made to the officials to clear the choked gutter lines and pump out the stagnant water before Aug 14. But no measures have been taken so far to rectify the fault.

As a result sewage has continued to overflow from a choked gutter line near a private school.
