PESHAWAR, Aug 13: Pakistan People’s Party central executive committee member Abdul Akbar Khan has said that the steps taken by the Election Commission to debar former prime minister Benazir Bhutto from the general elections would make the exercise questionable.

In a press release on Tuesday, the PPP leader advised the Election Commission against executing the unconstitutional steps of the government, which, he said, was hell-bent to keep the PPP out of the contest. He said Ms Bhutto was the symbol of the federation and any step to block her way into the country would make the elections dubious. Mr Akbar demanded of the EC to allot “arrow” as election symbol to PPP.
