KARACHI: Pledge of rights not honoured: seminar

KARACHI, Aug 13: Speakers belonging to various parties and organizations at a seminar on aims and reasons for the division of the Subcontinent highlighted the significance of Independence Movement and the movements launched against British imperialism in the region.

They said that since the majority religious and cultural entity in the Subcontinent refused to give religious, political, social, cultural rights to the other one, Pakistan came into existence. The creation of Pakistan was the result of a joint struggle of all the Muslim schools of thought.

The speakers regretted that the pledge given to safeguard the rights of those living in Pakistan was not honoured.—PPI
