Two youths buried alive

By Our Staff Reporter

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 12: Two youths were buried alive on Monday when walls of an under-construction well collapsed on them in Mauza Mankwani in Cholistan.

Bashir Ahmad and Afsar Hussain were digging the well when its walls collapsed on them. Their bodies were recovered after hectic efforts of six hours.

ESCAPES: An activist of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi carrying Rs0.5 million headmoney escaped his arrest here on Sunday night.

Police sources said that on a tip-off Khairpur police raided Yaqoob’s house in Mauza Peero Joia, but Nasrullah alias Fazal Rehman of Chak 368/AR (Fort Abbas) managed to escape. He was wanted in a murder case. Police, however, arrested Yaqoob, treasurer of the banned SSP, for providing shelter to Nasrullah.
