ISLAMABAD, Aug 12: Pakistan People’s Party has apprised the Chief Election Commissioner of the “substantial grounds that the regime has set into motion a process of pre-poll rigging to deny the party a victory in the October elections”.

In a letter addressed to the CEC the party’s acting secretary-general Raza Rabbani said the formation of the National Alliance and the SDA were a part of the same.

The allout support to the PML (Q) is now an evidence. The party has been bringing to you notice from time to time various steps taken by the regime in law, administration and by manipulating the anti-PPP forces, he said.

The PPP forwarded to the CEC clipping of a news report appearing in a newspaper today which details quoting official sources of how the regime was forming another IJI-like alliance to “block returning of Benazir Bhutto” party to power.
