Women to get priority in teaching jobs: Mengal

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Aug 11: Balochistan government has decided to give priority to women teachers in the primary schools and men would be appointed only in case of non-availability of women candidates, Governor Amirul Mulk Mengal said on Saturday.

Talking to a delegation of National Commission on Status of Women, led by Majida Rizvi, he said the government was paying attention to protection of women’s rights and giving them representation in education, health and other sectors. He said lady doctors would be appointed in their respective areas on priority.

He said Balochistan was the first province where honorarium for women councillors had been approved.
