HYDERABAD, Aug: 11: A group of the activists of the PPP, Hyderabad, staged a protest demonstration and observed a token hunger strike here on Sunday against the alleged rigging in the party elections, held on July 28.

The protesters, Ghulam Sarwar Abro, Noor Muhammad Palari and others, talking to newsmen, accused Moula Bux Chandio, Amjad Baloch, Shagufta Jumani and Naeem Jarwar of stealing the ballot papers to get their favourite candidates elected.

They also accused them of creating groups within the party and demanded an inquiry into the alleged rigging.

They warned that if these leaders were given party tickets in the upcoming general elections, they would face strong opposition from the local party activists.

They also threatened to challenge the elections in the court of law and appealed to the Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Nisar Khuhro, Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Kazi Asad Abid to look into the matter.

BENAZIR’S RETURN: The president, Sindh People’s Youth Organization, Dr Fida Hussain Mirani, has said no one will be allowed to create hurdles in the return of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

Talking to the SPYO office-bearers of defunct Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions here on Sunday, Mirani said the youth force of 5,000 workers would ensure Ms Bhutto’s safe return to the country.
