29 parties apply for symbols


ISLAMABAD, Aug 10: Twenty-nine political parties have filed applications with the Election Commission for allotment of election symbols.

Aug 12 is the last date to file applications for allotment of the symbols to contest elections being held on Oct 10.

The parties who have filed their applications are: Muttahida Deeni Mahaz, Pakistan Qaumi League, Millat Party, Sindh Urban Rural Alliance, Punjab National Front, Balochistan National Democratic Party, Pak Watan Party, Muttahida Qaumi Tehrik, Pakistan Awami Tehrik, Tehrik-i-Istiqlal, Shan-i-Pakistan Party, National People’s Party, Pakistan Ham Wattan Party, Balochistan National Congress, Mohib-i-Watan Nojwan Inqilabion Ki Anjuman, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League (Qayum), Istiqlal Party, Tameer-i-Pakistan Party, Balochistan National Party, Jamhoori Wattan Party, Punjab National Party of Pakistan, Sindh Democratic Party, Pakistan Democratic Party, Hazara Qaumi Mahaz, Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao), Jamiat Ahl-i-Hadith Pakistan, Pakistan Popular Republic Party and Jamiat-i-Ulema Pakistan (Nifaz-i-Shariat).—APP
