Three wounded in Indian shelling

MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 9: At least three persons were injured in Kotli district as Indian troops resorted to heavy shelling from across the Line of Control on Friday without any provocation, police said.

The shelling started in Tatta Pani sector at 2pm, during which enemy troops used mortars and medium artillery.

Shells hit the bazaars and residential areas in Tatta Pani and Goi villages, damaging some houses and killing cattle besides injuring three persons.

The injured, Riaz Farooq, 16, Mohammad Ishaq, 25, and an 8-year-old boy, were in the house of one Khalid, in Goi village, police said and added that Riaz was taken to Kotli district headquarters hospital due to critical wounds.
