KARACHI: Muttahida condemns attacks on minorities

KARACHI, Aug 9: Chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain, has condemned the armed attack on a Christian missionary hospital in Taxila and expressed grief over the killing of innocent people there.

In a statement from London, Mr Altaf, referring to different attacks on religious and other buildings and premises in the recent months in the country, said that the government was failing to protect religious minorities in the country.

He demanded of President Pervez Musharraf to order practical measures regarding the security and protection of religious minorities and their place of worship and properties.

He also demanded immediate arrest of and exemplary punishment to the culprits involved in the attacks on the missionary hospital.
