KARACHI: Govt creating hurdles: MQM

KARACHI, Aug 9: Chairman Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM) Afaq Ahmed has blamed the government for creating hurdles for the party to keep it away from peaceful democratic struggle.

“MQM believes in peaceful struggle and always prefers national interests while dealing with various issues and that’s why despite brutal police action against the party workers it remains peaceful,” he said at his party’s central committee meeting here on Friday.

Terming the reported government support to a few political parties a “conspiracy” against the MQM, he said raids, arrests, registration of fake FIRs against its activists were part of the conspiracy.

He warned that any failure by the government to halt operation against the party would have serious impacts on the county.—PPI
