Coalition soldiers slip into tribal area

By Sailab Mehsud

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN, Aug 8: A group of coalition troops crossed into the Pakistan side of border from Afghanistan early Thursday, but “disappeared” after the arrival of the Scout Force personnel in the area.

The coalition troops, accompanied by some Afghan soldiers, crossed into Angoor

Adda area of the South Waziristan Agency and laid siege to the houses of some tribal maliks.

As the word about their entry got wind, local tribesmen entrenched themselves in bunkers to cope with the situation. However, the coalition troops went away when the Scout Force personnel arrived.

The tribesmen have expressed concern over the incident and asked the government to take stock of the situation.

They warned of strict action against such incursions.

There was no official confirmation of the incident.
