KARAHI, AUG 7: A tricky card of seven races has been drawn for the Karachi Summer Gymkhana races which will be held Thursday afternoon at the local turf. The first race will begin at 2 pm.

The racegoers will be advised to be careful in picking the winners as more than two horses in most of events have equal chance of winning barring Navahoo Princess in the sixth race who should not get beat after her last Sunday’s run behind Saligna.

In the first race, Darbari Malang, Spring Fair, The Messenger and Glamour Girl draw the attention most. Spring Fair is supported by the connections should have the better of The Messenger who will fight for lower berths with top weight Darbari Malang.

Sher Khan, Gharnata, Chhoto, Sunday Silence, Clever Cat and Abr-e-Noor are the ones who have of late some forward runs in the second race. On those runs they may come in for support by their stable connections. I would however like Sunday Silence to nose out Clever Cat. Abr-e-Noor can provide the element of surprise.

Noor-un-Nisa, Prism Of Life, Lawrence Of Arabia and Black Magic catch the eye in the third race. Prism Of Life had run third behind Winning Streak and Genuine Risk. In the absence of both of them he should make his presence felt. Noor-un-Nisa who will carrying 9-1 with a rider eligible for allowance can upset calculations.

Jamaima, Fizza and Just In Fun have been getting consistent runs and the trio are likely to fight it out for honours, I would go for speedy Fizza having the edge.

In the fifth race My Lucky Star, Lucky One, and Aziz Love are the pick. The last named has come down in lower class therefore should win for mere asking from the connections. It will have a big question mark of support from the stable. My Lucky Star should be a safe place bet. Hawaitha who is reported to be tracking well can cause the upset.

In the concluding event of the day, a win now seem over due for Deniro though he is running in a lot better company. Inferno and Giselle should fight for lower berths. Giselle’s last run was not true to her morning exercise showing. She should put up better runs this afternoon but will find Deniro hard to beat unless the rider of Deniro makes some tactical mistake.
