GUJRAT, Aug 7: The Lahore High Court ordered the Lalamusa Saddar SHO to register a gang-rape case against three culprits, Dawn learnt here on Wednesday.
Shabana Kausar (23) was alone in her house at Theekarian when Aslam, Bashir and Nazar stepped in and overpowered her. They raped her in turns at pistol point and escaped. The incident had occurred on July 23 last in broad daylight.
Victim’s father Hussain had immediately contacted the Lalamusa Saddar police, but SHO Raza Awan refused to register a case. The complainant also got the same response when he reported the matter to DSP Headquarters and the Gujrat SSP.
Finally, the complainant moved court which directed the police to register a rape case against the nominated accused. Upon this, the Saddar police have registered a case.
Talking to Dawn, the complainant alleged that the police was patronizing the influential outlaws who were threatening him with dire consequences.
When contacted, the moharrer termed it a staged incident and said that the complainant and the accused family had some old rift over an issue.
SHO Raza Awan was also of opinion that the accused could not commit such a crime because they all were above 65.
STABBED: A man, Nazar Hussain, was stabbed to death on Tuesday by his relative, Arif, over a domestic issue in Roperi, Kotla Arab Ali Khan.
LOOTED: Six highwaymen on late Tuesday looted a bus passengers on the GT Road near Rehmania bridge.
The Rawalpindi-bound bus (RPT-7433) when reached near Rehmania bridge, three bandits present in the vehicle, whipped out their weapons and asked the driver to took the vehicle to a deserted place. Meanwhile, three more bandits boarded the bus and started snatching cash and other valuables from passengers. Later, they escaped in a car.
The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Gujrat Saddar police station.
