MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 7: The AJK government has decided to review the alleged illegal appointments and other steps in violation of merit in government departments and the officials concerned were asked on Wednesday to furnish details in this regard within one month.

Presiding over a meeting, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan said the departments would point out the illegal appointments and promotions effected since Jan 1, 1995, besides giving details whether the posts were advertised, quota and qualification conditions were fulfilled and tests and interviews were conducted.

He said employees of the state could work with dedication and commitment only when they felt satisfied with their seniority and other service matters.

The minister said litigation against the education department in this regard was high, which was affecting its performance and causing financial losses.
