Ex-official gets bail

MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 7: AJK Ehtesab Court No I here on Wednesday rejected the application for the judicial remand of a former AJK official and granted him bail.

Judge Syed Nisar Hussain Shah observed that there was no substance in the charges framed by the Ehtesab Bureau against Syed Mujahid Hussain Naqvi and rejected the bureau’s plea for his remand, and instead granted him bail on a surety bond of Rs500,000.

Naqvi, a practicing lawyer, was demoted by the previous government from the position of secretary information to assistant director information, and later dismissed from service.

The Ehtesab Bureau had arrested him in Mirpur on Tuesday from where he was brought here in a police van early on Wednesday.
